My dear friends, and tango community,

As some of you already know, I have been diagnosed with breast cancer last November. While it was caught early, it is an aggressive, fast growing kind, that grew from stage one ( 13 mm ) to stage 2 ( 21 mm) just in 3 weeks. I have started chemotherapy on January 6, and am having difficult time with it. My treatment consists of chemotherapy for 3 months, followed up by a surgery, and then more chemo for a year.

While I had my ups and downs, all my life I was a self-sufficient person, relying on my own earnings only. Unfortunately last two years were devastating for me health-wise, and therefore financial- wise. I hate asking for help. I was trying to think of ways to avoid this fundraiser, and believe me, exhausted all options before doing this. However I need to face the fact that I have not paid my rent for months of December or January. I live with my son, and he is not old enough to make sufficient income. I have applied for disability benefits, but this office takes several months to approve even people with cancer diagnosis.

I know that the season of giving is over, but if you can find it in your heart to help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. I need to focus on getting better instead of worrying about my rent.
