My beautiful Bella has been hospitalised today after suddenly becoming very unwell. She’s battling a serious flare-up of her kidney disease and pancreatitis, and needs urgent fluids and treatment to help stabilise her and make her comfortable again.
The quoted cost of todays care alone is £600, and she likely needs to return for more treatment & hospitalisation over the next few days. With an outstanding vet balance of around £700 from previous treatments (which I’m already making monthly payments towards)- along with almost £300 in emergency vet fees on Sunday, & her ongoing monthly medication costs, the costs are becoming very difficult to manage. In addition to this I’m currently recovering from knee surgery so travel expenses are an added cost, especially with the emergency vets being across the other side of the city.
My Bella means absolutely everything to me. Most of you know I lost my other beloved dog, Jock, a few years ago, and more recently my beautiful Mum — so Bella truly is my whole world and my reason to keep going. She’s brought me endless love, comfort, and strength through every difficult moment.
Bella’s life hasn’t been easy. She was rescued from a horrific backyard breeding puppy farm where she faced years of abuse, overbreeding, malnourishment, and trauma. When I first got her, she didn’t trust humans at all. Over the past seven years, with love and care, she’s completely transformed into the sweetest, most loving, and joyful soul and is such a happy little dog. I truly believe that surviving such a traumatic start has given her an incredible will to live and a deep appreciation for life.
She’s faced more health battles than most dogs ever could, but Bella has always fought back with such love and determination. Last year, after a spinal injury left her unable to walk, she miraculously recovered with love, time, care, and sheer willpower. She’s also survived multiple life-threatening episodes and continues to amaze the vets and myself with her resilience, strength, and gentle spirit. She’s a little miracle with the biggest heart and an incredible will to live. Bella never gives up no matter what life throws at her. She really makes the most of every day and is such an inspiration. She enjoys her walks in the park, loves meeting people and other dogs, playing with her toys, and most of all, she truly loves her Mummy.
Although her kidney disease is advanced and we don’t know what the future holds, she still has so much love and life left to give. My goal is to keep her comfortable, happy, and enjoying every precious moment she has.
Alongside her kidney and pancreatic issues, she has a few other ongoing conditions including cushings and pulmonary fibrosis which is managed with regular medications - this makes her care more complex, but she continues to defy the odds and finds joy in every day. With the right treatment and support, I believe she can pull through again.
Unfortunately, Bella can’t be insured due to her pre-existing health conditions, so all of her care and medications must be paid for out-of-pocket. I’ve done everything I can to manage her treatment, but the expenses are becoming overwhelming.
If you’re able to help — whether by donating or simply sharing this page — it would mean the world to both of us. Every bit of kindness helps give my Bella the care she needs and the fighting chance she deserves.
Thankyou so much for reading and for helping my baby girl,
Yasmin xxx
