Bella is a 2-year-old chow chow who has already been through so much in her short life.

Neighbors first noticed Bella being left outside on a balcony in the Miami heat, at risk of heatstroke. Calls were made to management, and she was eventually brought inside - but that is when we learned her family was being evicted. In a twist of fate, on September 23rd, Bella was handed over to a kind neighbor named Oscar, who wanted to help but couldn’t keep her. When we heard she was at risk of being taken to the shelter, we stepped in to make sure Bella’s story had a different ending.

Today, on September 25th, Bella went to the vet, where she was tested for heartworm, Lyme, and other diseases (all negative!), received her rabies and Bordetella vaccines, and left a sample for a fecal exam. A generous community member covered her first bill - nearly $450 - which we are incredibly grateful for. Today she’s also getting fully groomed, since her coat was completely matted. Afterward, she’ll head to her loving foster home with a woman called Carrie and her pup Donut.

Now, we’re raising funds to cover:

Spay surgery (essential for her health and future)

Ongoing grooming (chow chows require monthly upkeep)

Food and supplies while in foster care

Any additional medical needs that may come up

We are committed to full transparency. Every dollar will go directly to Bella’s care. We will share receipts and updates, and if there are funds left over, they will first reimburse the community member who covered her initial vet bill, and then be donated to the rescue that eventually takes Bella under their wing.

Bella deserves stability, safety, and love, and with your help, she’ll finally have it!
