Help Bella save her eyesight!
Greetings. My name is Katya. I have created a fundraising campaign for my husband’s sister. Meet Tsallati family: David, Bella and their 4 children. David has been pastoring many evangelical churches all over North Caucasus for the last 20 years. If you don’t know - North Caucasus is situated in the south of Russia where many nationalities live. It is a very beautiful and hospitable place! For the years of working there the church has done and is still doing a lot of good work for these people. Sorry to say not long ago the family faced a problem – Bella’s eyesight started to deteriorate significantly. She simply started to lose it. In just a day it declined up to -12 in one eye, that means she almost stopped seeing with it. She has never had perfect eyesight, but no one could tell that it would turn out to be such a great problem.
After her doctor’s check-up severe myopia and cataracts in both eyes were found. Myopia can’t be cured, although Bella tried treating it. Doctor’s report wasn’t uplifting – a surgery has to be performed as soon as possible that is called phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation in both eyes. If she doesn’t undergo this surgery, she will soon lose her eyesight totally without any possibility of further improvement. How can a mother of 4 go blind?
It turned out that such a difficult surgery can be performed by a small number of doctors. The doctor with best recommendations who is ready to do it works at the clinic «Instituto de microcirugia ocular» in Barcelona. Bella underwent check -up in this clinic and they confirmed the diagnosis and gave her a bill for both eyes of 10.000€.
This sum will cover the removal of both cataracts + buying two lenses + double eye surgery with intraocular lens implantation + necessary tests + several COVID tests before all the treatments. The bill that you see attached was issued for one eye only, so the sum must be multiplied by 2, also tests have not been included in this bill, because their number may vary – the longer we wait, the more complicated tests will have to be run again before the surgery - for the doctor to have more accurate figures.
You might wonder why we can’t have this surgery at home. There are 2 reasons: 1st – no country in the world (even at home) performs this surgery for free, 2nd – there are no second chances for intraocular lens implantation for the doctor and if a doctor fails, nothing else will be possible to do to fix it and her eyesight will be lost forever. That’s why we need a professional and skilled doctor.
We don’t have that much money, that is why we have started this fundraising campaign so those who want to support us could make a donation to make this surgery possible. We thank everyone who will help us! After the surgery we will definitely post all the paid bills along with the result, which we believe, will be successful.
