Hello, again. I wish I didn't have to be here to make this GoFundMe. The last time I made one, I had given updates that Bella was doing significantly better, and for a time, this was true. Unfortunately, a year later, darn near, she is in the worst state she has ever been in. She's lost a lot of weight, going from 10.1 lbs to 8.5 lbs and now even lower. She's drooling nonstop, and she easily bleeds out of her gums.
Why? You may ask, How even? In November, we took her to another veterinarian in which they did a dental to figure out the problem and why she was drooling and bleeding. It was then found out that she has CUPS. This stands for Chronic Ulcerative Paradental Stomatitis. It's long, so let me do my best to explain. Chronic is for how long she's had it, ulcerative because it causes ulcers. Paradental means it's adjacent to her teeth, and stomatitis is bad breath. Basically, she is "allergic" to bacteria in her mouth, and it's causing ulcers, pain, bleeding, and bad breath. The only way to fix this is to extract her teeth.
So now you may ask, why did it take so long to discover this? Why not last year? Well, honestly, I'd like to know the same thing. The vet we took Bella to for her teeth only mentioned her teeth were bad, so they cleaned her up and removed the bad teeth. This vet isn't at fault; her symptoms were not as bad as they are now. This sucks because her remaining teeth are not even bad teeth. On top of that, the vet I took Bella to told me they have never seen this in most of the years they have worked there. 1% chance basically. CUPS is more commonly found in old dogs, and Bella is going to turn three in February.
So what's next? Well, that's where this GoFundMe comes in. I cannot afford these vet bills, and nobody takes payment plans. I can't even get CareCredit. I tried, but they denied me because they couldn't "verify" my identity. I won't go into that, but it is worth mentioning. I'm hoping once again I can get this GoFundMe, well, funded. It's more expensive this time, and I'm HOPING it can be met, because I'm desperate. I'm really desperate.
The estimate for her teeth extraction is $1.500 to $2,000 and I am choosing the high end to be safe. The money will be 100% used for her surgery.
She's running out of time, and will starve to death and I'm coming here as a last resort. I have tried everything else, so please, if you have anything at all, please help me, and share the GoFundMe. Thank you.
With the photos, I've attached two current ones, and two old ones and the estimates from the Vet. I want to show the urgency she has, and I think the two new ones show that. Again, thank you for reading, your time and potential support.
