Help Lauren & Bella Heal After the Loss of Their Beloved Dave

Aloha, friends,

I’m reaching out today on behalf of my dear friend Lauren and her beautiful little girl, Bella Eddings. Their lives were forever changed when Bella’s father, Dave, passed away tragically and unexpectedly — leaving behind not only his best friend and the mother of his child, but also his two spoiled cats, Whitefoot and Rambo, who were like family to him.

Lauren had just moved to Maui from Arizona this past August, making the brave choice to bring Bella closer to her dad so she could grow up surrounded by his love and spirit. None of us could have imagined that only weeks later, this bright, talented, and deeply kind man would be taken so soon. Dave was a genius in his own right — a thinker, a creator, and a soul whose warmth touched everyone around him.

Now, in the wake of this unimaginable loss, Lauren is trying to hold everything together for Bella while also finding the strength to rebuild. She’s facing rent, child care, and the costs of daily living, all while navigating grief and single parenthood far from the place she just left behind.

Lauren never wanted to ask for help — she has always been strong, independent, and determined to do it all on her own. But sometimes love shows up in the form of community. That’s why I’m creating this fundraiser — for her, for Bella, and in honor of Dave.
