Hi, my name is Pamela Carter, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Colleen (Cody) Winquist and her beloved rescue dog, Bella.

Bella came into Colleen’s life 10 years ago as a rescue—her third placement—and it was love at first sight. From the very beginning, the bond between them was unbreakable. They went everywhere together—truck rides, dog parks, camping trips—living life side by side. Bella, though small, had a huge personality and brought joy to everyone she met. At the dog park, she was a local favorite, keeping up with the big dogs on her tiny legs and always right in the mix.

Then life took an unexpected turn. Five years ago, Colleen suffered a serious injury that left her mostly bedridden. Eighteen months ago, she lost the ability to walk. Those once-active days were replaced with quiet ones at home. Through it all, Bella remained steadfast—her comic relief, her most loyal companion, and her reason to smile through the pain.

Now Bella needs our help.

In April, Bella was seen by a vet who found a tumor that urgently needs to be removed. The vet is concerned that if not treated soon, it could rupture and lead to her death. Unfortunately, Colleen lives on a small fixed income and is unable to afford the cost of the surgery on her own.

Bella is not just a dog—she’s Colleen’s best friend, her emotional support, her co-pilot in life, and her whole heart. Helping Bella means helping Colleen hold on to the very light that gets her through each day.
