Hi everyone,
I’m Hannah’s sister, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for friends and family of Bella who want to help during this urgent time.
Bella is Hannah’s 9 year old Boxer mix and her absolute best friend. To know Bella is to love her. She makes friends everywhere she goes and is a very loving, goofy, and friendly dog.
Recently Bella began showing neurological symptoms. After advanced imaging with a veterinary neurologist, the doctors discovered that she has a large pituitary brain tumor affecting her personality and motor functions.
Without treatment it will continue to grow and soon become fatal. The Ontario Veterinary College has a waitlist until May, but Bella’s oncologist has warned that waiting that long could cause irreversible damage. The good news is that there is treatment. Her veterinarian has secured an upcoming slot in Pittsburgh, where specialists will provide care and begin radiation therapy before it’s too late.
Specialists have recommended Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT) a highly targeted form of radiation designed to shrink the tumor and relieve pressure on Bella’s brain. This gives her the best chance to stabilize her condition and enjoy a happy, healthy life. At 9 years old, Bella is still young enough that with successful treatment she could have many joyful years ahead.
Unfortunately, this specialized care is well over $10,000 for the CT scan, treatment planning, and radiation, not to mention the exchange rate and travel costs. We don’t want Hannah to shoulder this financial burden alone, and we want to help alleviate some of it so she can spend as much time with Bella as needed.
How You Can Help
Any contribution toward Bella’s treatment helps directly with her medical care and radiation therapy. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser can make a huge difference.
Bella has spent her whole life spreading love and joy to everyone around her. We’re hoping to give her the chance to keep doing that for many more years.
Thank you so much for supporting Bella and Hannah during this critical time. ❤️
