In Loving Memory of Zeus

I never imagined I would be writing something like this.

In December 2025, my world changed when my beautiful boy Zeus was diagnosed with cancer. We fought as hard as we could for him—countless vet visits, treatments, and endless hope—but despite everything, I had to say goodbye to him in April 2026. Losing Zeus broke my heart in ways I still struggle to put into words. He wasn’t just a dog—he was family, my constant, my comfort.

Zeus left behind his sister Bella, and I truly believed that after everything we had been through, the worst was behind us.

Last week, that hope was shattered.

Bella underwent an FNA (fine needle aspirate), and the results came back positive for cancer. I still can’t wrap my head around how this could happen to both of my dogs. It feels unbearably cruel and unfair.

Bella has since had a CT scan, and we are currently waiting for the final results—but the vet is cautiously optimistic. At this stage, they believe the cancer has not spread and is operable. That hope is everything to me. Surgery could give Bella a real fighting chance at a longer, happy life.

Unfortunately, the financial reality is overwhelming.

My pet insurance for Bella is nearly maxed out, and my savings were exhausted during Zeus’s diagnosis and treatment. I would do anything—absolutely anything—to avoid asking for help, but I can’t do this alone.

Bella is still full of life. She still wags her tail, looks at me with trust in her eyes, and has no idea what she’s facing. I owe it to her—and to Zeus—to fight as hard for her as I fought for him.
