My name is Belkis Melendez, and for the past five years, I have been fighting the hardest battle of my life.

I was first diagnosed with uterine cancer. After enduring treatments, appointments, procedures, and the emotional toll that comes with a cancer diagnosis, I continued to push forward with faith and determination. Recently, I received another devastating diagnosis — leukemia.

This journey has been physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelming.

Over the years, I have undergone continuous treatments that have taken a toll on my body. Many days, I experience significant pain, limited mobility, and extreme fatigue. Because of this, I have not been able to work consistently. There have been periods when my health simply would not allow me to work at all.

Now, I find myself in urgent need of support.

While I am insured, not all of the treatments, medications, specialist visits, and related medical expenses are fully covered. The out-of-pocket costs continue to grow, and without steady income, it has become increasingly difficult to keep up with these expenses while also covering daily living needs.

I am humbly asking for your help.

Any contribution — no matter how small — will go directly toward:

• Ongoing cancer treatments

• Medications and specialized care

• Medical-related expenses not covered by insurance

• Basic living expenses during this time of medical hardship

My sister in law, Nancy Torra, is listed as a beneficiary as she will help me manage the funds.

Aunque cuento con seguro médico, no todos los tratamientos, medicamentos, visitas a especialistas y gastos relacionados están completamente cubiertos.
