My name is Isha. I'm an English tutor for Arabic speakers and a Muslim living in The United States. I met Belal through a language exchange app months ago and we have become bonded through our religion and our commitment to making the world a better place for all.

Belal lives in Yemen, which some of you may know has been experiencing war and famine for years and is now experiencing retaliation from world powers in the form of airstrikes.

Belal lives in an area that has been targeted by these airstrikes and the need for relocation and a way out of Yemen is imperative.

There are a lot of challenges that he will face in his journey fleeing Yemen, as most of the routes commonly taken are unavailable now due to most of the region being in either war or in high tensions with neighboring countries. However, we were able to get guidance from other Yemeni's who have fled to Djibouti and registered with the UNHCR who have them assisted them in getting into European countries where there is some stability to plan a future. The flight to Djibouti from Aden is around $500 and rent in Djibouti is expected to be around the same price per month. He will be staying in an area that many other Yemeni refugees stay in. The fund seeks to cover his rent and living expenses while he stays and waits in Djibouti while his refugee status and transfer are being processed, which is expected to take months.

Yemenis are very dignified and brave people who love life and it is very upsetting to see our friends and fellow Muslims in such a state.

I'll be collecting funds on Belal's behalf and sending him the funds as they are received and will be sending receipts that the funds have been transferred to his account which he is able to access even when he leaves Yemen.
