Let me tell you about my friend Beks. She’s an incredibly hardworking, kind, independent and caring gal. She’s a loyal and selfless friend, sister and aunt. So when her dear family “back home” in Massachusetts told her about a hardship they’re experiencing due to injury, it’s no surprise that she felt called to help however she could.

Beks decided to put the wheels in motion to make a temporary work transfer happen, which would enable her to be close to family (staying in their home, helping with care for two small kiddos) while continuing to work and earn money to pay her bills in Grand Rapids where she lives currently. Plane tickets were purchased. Announcements were made at work, indicating the transfer would happen. She was excited to be on her way ASAP to offer some help and relief to her dear ones.

And then. Just days before her flight to Boston, Beks encountered some unexpected complications to the temporary work transfer plan. In a nutshell, her originally-requested work location is not an option after all, and the approved location for her transfer is too far of a commute from the home of her family where she will be staying. Not feasible for a person who is temporarily in town and without a vehicle. The work transfer turns out to be a bust.

Beks is still approved to be away from her job, use her plane ticket, and thereby continue with her plans to be with family and offer support. However, she will not be able to work/earn money during this three week period - NOT what she thought she was signing up for. And yet… she’s wanting to help her family in their time of need.

I’d love to help lighten the financial burden of this situation for her, and allow my friend to be where she feels called to be. Beks is the LAST person to ask for help - and I know she’ll work very hard to make her ends meet, no matter what. But if you feel inclined and have a little to spare, it would make a big difference for Beks to receive a little help. Thanks for considering!
