So as all of you know, I was diagnosed with CRPS nearly two years ago. I have explored many different treatments and medications for CRPS, but because it is a rare disease, I have already exhausted my options. I've had 10 Stellate Ganglion nerve block procedures, I was in OT for over 7 months, and in 2020 alone, I had 197 doctors appointments. You can read more about that here .
However, there is a clinic in Fayetteville, Arkansas that specializes in neurological diseases. They have an 84% successful remission rate for CRPS, which is the best I've ever seen. After reading Doctor Katinka van der Merwe's book and listening to dozens and dozens of patient testimonials, I applied and was accepted as a patient at The Spero Clinic.
The Spero Clinic is my 'hail Mary' to try and get at least a portion of my health back. To get the constant pain to decrease and for my arm's movement and health to increase. The clinic is three months of intensive treatment where they help 'restart' the nervous system and try to help heal the body from the inside out. As CRPS is a neurological disease, the malfunction is in my brain and it has already changed the structure of my hippocampus. My brain fog makes it incredibly difficult to write, my blood pressure has decreased significantly to where I have several blackouts a day, my arm is purple and bruised 100% of the time, and my fatigue and pain sometimes make it difficult to perform even the smallest of tasks like brushing my teeth.
I begin treatment in February 2022.
But like most specialty clinics treating rare diseases, my health insurance covers ZERO. So I am fronting 80% of the cost myself, but I need your help to cover the rest. I would be over-the-moon to have your help in getting me to the clinic and changing my life.
