WHAT HAPPENED:
Tropical Cyclone Idai brought with it strong winds and flash floods, with officials in Mozambique reporting many fatalities and many more injured.

Everything, from means to rebuild houses to food and water.
WHAT WILL THE MONEY BE USED FOR:
The money raised will be used primarily for relief efforts. The money will be used to purchase clean bottle of water, non-perishable-foods, blankets and tends.
WHO WILL MANAGE IN MOZAMBIQUE:
I have made contacts with the Baptist Convention of Mozambique. They are working on the relief effort through the Baptist Benefit Association (ABB) lead by Sozinho Guerra (a very good friend of mine and trustworthy person). They will be working with local churches to access where the need is most.
HOW WILL THE MONEY REACH MOZAMBIQUE:
I have spent time talking to local banks to see the possibility of transferring the funds free of fees. I am currently talking to Western Union and Money Gram representatives (services that I use for personal reasons) to see if there is a way to avoid paying fees or pay a reduced amount. I will update once a clear decision has been reached. Until then, no funds will be withdraw.
WHO AM I:
My name is Danilo Guesela. I graduated from Indiana University and now live in Georgia, USA where I work as a software developer. I am married to Magali Koyo who is an Electrical Engineer.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT TO US?
I was born in Beira, Mozambique. I personally know many families affected and places destroyed. I have invested my personal time and resources, but I know that with help more can be done.
HOW WILL YOU KNOW THE MONEY IS BEING USED CORRECTLY:
I will personally keep up with proof of receipts and images of every single transaction made and everything purchased in Mozambique and will update this page with the transactions.
