Hi, my name is Bee, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.

I never imagined I would be in a position where I had to ask for help like this, but right now my family and I are struggling just to keep our heads above water.

Last July, my spouse was in a serious car accident. That alone put us behind financially in ways we’ve been trying to recover from ever since. Just when I finally started catching up in January, life hit again I had to undergo surgery, which caused me to lose one of my jobs and miss weeks of work from my primary job.

Then in February, things became even harder. I lost my health insurance and was also diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that now requires ongoing treatment. Between medical needs and lost income, everything has continued to snowball.

Right now, we are months behind on our mortgage, car payment, and power bill. I’ve been doing everything I can working every shift available, picking up side gigs like doing nails and DoorDash, and even borrowing from friends and family just to keep gas in my car and make it to work when I can. But no matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to catch up.

I’m trying to find additional work, but with my health and everything going on, it’s been nearly impossible to maintain a consistent schedule or take on a traditional second job.

More than anything, I’m trying to hold everything together for my family. I have a child who depends on me, and a spouse who needs me, and I’m doing everything in my power not to lose what little stability we have left.
