Help Bee and Sera Secure a Home

I'm Bee Moon, and me, my wife Sera, and our two cats, Mabel and Dipper, will be living in a Uhaul starting July 8th. I'm disabled and can't work, so Sera is currently supporting the both of us financially. She works for $16 an hour full time and it isn't enough to reliably cover all our monthly expenses, notably our rent.

We have $1200 out of a $2000 deposit for an apartment that we're hoping to afford for the foreseeable future. If we get the deposit by the 15th we can secure it for early August, getting us out of the Uhaul. We're asking for $5000 to help keep a roof over our heads and keep our cats in a stable living situation. This will cover the UHaul expense (which is currently on credit), the rest of our deposit, food, cat litter, and supplement our rent for the first few months so we can get a strong, safe start in our new place.

My disability is suspected to be POTs/ME-CFS brought on by a Covid infection from 2021. I have deteriorated rapidly since 2023 and can no longer walk short distances without a cane, and rely on a wheelchair for most of my transportation. POTs makes it difficult for me to move without elevated heart rate or fainting while ME/CFS makes it so what activity I can do, even something as simple as taking a shower or cooking a meal, has extreme physical cost and can cause me to become bedridden for days. My health condition and resulting disability have also led my doctors to recommend I not work. I cannot afford specialists for official diagnoses, though my doctor is recommending a specialty clinic three hours away (I do not own a car). My issues have substantially impacted us and put a large burden on my wife.

My cats are bonded to each other and to us, so keeping them is something incredibly important. Their company gets me through the hours I'm alone when Sera is working, and I genuinely don't know what I'd do without their support. Our situation in the UHaul will not be ideal in the July heat, but we hope to be out as quickly as possible.

Neither of us have family support due to a combination of abuse and ideological differences (we are a queer couple).
