Sage Float Spa has teamed up with Bed & Biscuits (B&B) to raise funds so that B&B can board dogs and cats who have lost their homes due to the CZU Lightning Complex Fire.
Bed and Biscuits has been an anchor in the Santa Cruz pet community for 20 years. Since the CZU Fire began, B&B has taken in over 70 displaced animals, offering free boarding, play time, and cuddles for the furry family members of evacuees.
In the effort to help as many animals as possible, B&B owner Meghan Jenkins, has reconfigured dog runs and boarding space to open up room for up to 30 more dogs and cats that need a place to stay during this difficult time.
While Bed and Biscuits has a long history of stepping up during various local and national disasters, the scope of the current emergency far exceeds their financial reserves. B&B has been operating at a reduced staff capacity for months due to COVID-19. With the sudden overwhelming influx of fire evacuees, B& B is in need of financial support to cover the increased payroll and business expenses associated with caring for its vulnerable guests. Some may require housing for up to several months as their human families are in temporary shelter spaces that do not allow animals.

We are humbly requesting community donations to help keep the B&B 24-hour staff compensated during this time. Some of their own workers have been displaced due to the CZU Fire. Keeping their income steady and reliable is a critical component of ensuring that they have the emotional and logistical space to care for our animals.
