Dear Friends, Family and Neighbors,
I need your help moving to Houston to be closer to my family.
Having 2 cancers (surgeries, radiation & chemo) 2 years in a row has taken a toll on me and required a lot of my family to help from a distance.
On Mother's Day this year I was back in the ER due to complications from all the treatment. Because of COVID I waited 4 days beyond the time I should have gone. Not only was my lower bowl in distress I was on the verge of kidney failure. 7 days later I was discharged to a Skilled Nursing Facility for rehab because the most I could walk was 20 feet with a walker. After 14 days of quarantine and daily PT and Occupational Therapy I was discharged to go home.
Living alone has made me think long and hard, pray and ask advice, and come to the obvious conclusion that I needed to be near family. Here in San Antonio I have a few wonderful friends to call on but no one that can stay with me 24x7 when I need it.
Since I'm pretty sure I won't get much healthier than I am today its time to get near family so my family caregivers can have the peace of mind knowing they can quickly respond if anything else happens...plus Houston has the best cancer center in the US if that bastard disease re-appears.

After 2 years of hospitals and not being able to work much my savings have been depleted; hence the GoFundMe. The current plan is to purchase a trailer home in Houston near my family, so I have an affordable place to live. I will then rent my house in San Antonio. This will supplement my Social Security income which should provide enough money to live on. The monies hopefully raised with this gofundme will all go to this move.
I'm grateful for all the support and love all my friends from around the country have sent me as you've been "virtually" by my side. I also know COVID has clobbered many checkbooks but whatever help you are comfortable giving is greatly appreciated.
With love and gratitude,
Becky
P.S. Thanks in advance for helping me out!
