In September 2023, our beautiful friend Becky was diagnosed with secondary triple negative metastatic breast cancer, an aggressive and rare form of breast cancer that had already spread beyond her breast and lymph nodes.
Since then, she has faced more than most people endure in a lifetime.
Becky has undergone multiple chemotherapy regimens. Some had to be stopped because her body simply could not tolerate them. Her pre existing heart condition limits which treatments she can safely receive. Genetic testing showed she does not carry the BRCA mutation and her cancer does not have targetable markers, meaning immunotherapy and newer targeted drugs are not options for her.
In January 2025, scans confirmed progression to her bones (pelvis, femur and spine) and liver. She bravely began Trodelvy, which gave us precious months of stability before the cancer progressed again. She then started Eribulin, but shortly after began experiencing neurological symptoms. An MRI confirmed brain metastases.
She is currently undergoing whole brain radiotherapy.
This is not curative treatment. It is aimed at preserving her independence and buying meaningful time.
We do not know how much time we have with Becky. What we do know is that we want that time to be filled with love, comfort and beautiful memories.
Who Becky Is
If you know Becky, you know.
She is one of those rare souls who makes everyone feel safe, loved and included. She has been part of our friendship group since high school, and decades later we are still inseparable. That says everything about the kind of person she is.
She is a devoted wife to Darren and the most loving mum to her four year old daughter, Elsie, who has additional needs and is non verbal autistic. Elsie is Becky’s absolute world.
Even throughout treatment, pain and exhaustion, Becky puts everyone else first. Always.
Why We’re Raising Money
Because Becky deserves more than hospital appointments.
Because she deserves joy.
Because there are things she may not otherwise get to experience, and we want to make them happen while she can enjoy them.
Becky has mentioned simple but meaningful wishes:
• Seeing an opera or a West End show
• Spending a peaceful night by the seaside
• Hosting a beautiful 40th birthday celebration in April
• Creating lasting memories with her husband, daughter, family and friends
• Taking the financial pressure off during treatment
Becky has not been able to work due to treatment and caring responsibilities. There is no life insurance policy to fall back on. The financial and emotional strain on her little family is immense.
This fund is about
• Reducing financial stress
• Allowing Becky to make memories without worry
• Supporting experiences that bring light during an unimaginably difficult time
The Reality
Triple negative metastatic breast cancer is not curable.
Becky has already exhausted most available treatment pathways. Whole brain radiotherapy marks a significant stage in her illness.
- We are hoping for time.
- We are hoping for comfort.
- We are hoping for moments that matter.
We cannot change her diagnosis.
But we can change how the coming months feel.
If You Can Help
