Our dear friend and neighbor, Becki Burroughs, is in the fight of her life at Eastern Maine Medical Center after being diagnosed with Goodpasture Syndrome — a rare and aggressive autoimmune disease that attacks both the lungs and kidneys.
Becki has faced overwhelming challenges. At one point, while on a ventilator, her lung function dropped to just 16%. Through the grace of God and her incredible strength, she is now breathing on her own — a true miracle. However, her battle continues. Becki is still in kidney failure and may require a kidney transplant in the near future.
Becki has spent years giving her heart to others, especially through her work at the Ashland Manor (Assisted Living), where she cared deeply for the elderly and vulnerable in our community. Now it’s our turn to give back to someone who has given so much.
She is unable to work and will continue to be out of work for some time. The financial strain from travel, medical bills, and everyday living expenses is heavy. This fundraiser is meant to ease those burdens so Becki and her family can focus fully on healing and what lies ahead.
If you’ve ever met Becki, you know her strength, her compassion, and her unwavering faith. Let’s surround her with that same love and support. Every donation — no matter the amount — and every share makes a difference.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Becki during this incredibly difficult time.
With love,
Becki’s Support Team — Friends & Family
