Pickleball has become so much more than just a sport for my son Beckham and me—it’s been a lifeline that brought us closer together during one of the toughest times in our lives. After my divorce, we discovered pickleball as a way to heal, connect, and find joy again. It’s something we both love, and it’s given us a shared passion that we can work on together, both on and off the court.
Beckham is only 10 years old, but his dedication and talent are already shining through. Just this past weekend, he placed second in singles at the National Junior Pickleball Tournament, and his excitement for the sport is only growing. We have big dreams for him to compete in the Jr MLP tour this summer and select PPA junior events around the country. These opportunities will help him develop as an athlete and as a person, and I want to do everything I can to support him on this journey.
The costs of tournaments, travel, training, food, lodging, and airfare add up quickly, and as a single parent, I’ll also need to take time off work to be there for Beckham every step of the way. Our stretch goal includes helping provide a home near his training center in Austin, so he can have the best environment to pursue his passion. I will be managing and spending the funds on Beckham’s behalf, making sure every dollar goes toward helping him grow and succeed.
We’re reaching out to our community for support—your generosity will make a real difference in Beckham’s life and our family’s journey. Thank you for considering a donation and for being part of Beckham’s story.
