Some of you may know that my sweet and beautiful sister Rebecca Teague has been recently diagnosed with cervical cancer. At only 32 years young, this news has drastically changed the course of Rebecca's life at the moment and has been a shock to her, her daughter and all of her loved ones.
Rebecca is a ray of sunshine for those who are lucky enough to know her and such a selfless soul. She is the most loyal and supportive person I know. She looks for the light in every situation. She always makes friends along the way and touches people's lives wherever she goes. She is a mother to my beautiful niece, a daughter, an amazing sister & aunt, and so so much more.

Treatment So Far:
Rebecca was experiencing some unusual symptoms about 6 months ago so she went in for a Pap smear. During this visit she was told she had some “Abnormal Cells” on her Cervix and the doctor wanted her to come back in for an Ultrasound. After the ultrasound and a Cone Biopsy she was told she had a cyst on her ovary and the “Abnormal Cells” were Pre-Cancerous. The doctor wanted her to come in for a “Leep Procedure” which would remove the Abnormal Cells. The procedure went just fine and they sent her home and told her “See you in 6 months for a check up!” And we thought we were in the clear.
Three weeks later she received a phone call to come back in ASAP and was back in the doctors office the next day. Only to be told the pathology results from the Leep Procedure actually showed the Abnormal Cells were in fact Cancerous.

Since then we have moved on to an Oncologist at Ellis Fischell Cancer Center and there have been several more appointments, MRI’s, PET Scans and bloodwork.
Testing has shown that the Tumor has spread from the Cervix slightly, but does not appear to be Metastatic. The diagnosis is currently stage 2B cancer, which means here shortly, she will be going through Chemotherapy and Radiation 5 days a week for 7 weeks.
Unfortunately, The necessary treatments will also leave Rebecca infertile. This news of her not being able to carry another child has been extremely hard for Rebecca to come to terms with in addition to all of the other obstacles. I am hoping we can try and leave this option open for her to be able to freeze eggs and use surrogacy in the future.

I am asking for help for my sister.
Help to ease her mind and help her heal through this journey she is about to embark on.
Help to pay the extensive medical bills, to provide for her daughter and pay bills and everyday expenses while she is away from work these few months. Anything would be greatly appreciated! Even if it’s just a share of this page to help get the word out.
Thank you all for taking the time to read and giving Rebecca a moment of your time!
