Help Beau in his conservation adventure to Borneo!

Donation protected

Hello, My name is Beau Campbell and i am a 15 year old student at Farnham Heath end school.

I have an exciting opportunity in July 2025, after my GCSE`s, to take part in a 4 week, volunteer, conservation expedition to Borneo!

On my journey to adulthood i am challenging myself to raise the funds for this truly life enhancing, jungle expedition.

So on the weekend of October half term 2024, I will be taking on 2 mountains.

Firstly heading to Wales, Snowdon... to hopefully make short work of that little hill then straight up to Scotland to climb Ben Lomond the very next day climbing over 2000 metres in total.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT WORK.

I will be working on many environmental projects that will include planting trees to help combat deforestation and beach clearing to help counter marine pollution.

I will learn more about the Borneo jungle and the challenges faced in this important habitat – home to many species including orangutans.

COMMUNITY PROJECT WORK.

I will be getting involved in helping to build classrooms, constructing and refurbishing community buildings and installing water storage systems.

We will get stuck into some more community project work that is designed to benefit the local school and wider community. This could include low level construction, painting, plastering and brick laying.

I will visit the famous Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre to see these amazing creatures up close and personal in their natural habitat also we will go to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre – the only one of its kind in the world – where i will learn about the conservation work taking place to protect these unique bears.

During the 4 week trip i will be trekking through villages, farmland and deep Bornean jungle. Experience true off-grid living as i sleep in hammocks, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the jungle. i will hopefully gain a new perspective on life as i visit poignant memorials to World War II soldiers, and will have the chance to learn essential jungle first aid and survival techniques whilst mastering some incredible traditional skills.

During the evenings, i get to experience more of the local culture, with language lessons and cultural dance sessions!

I would really appreciate your support and donations to be able to take part in this unbelievable cause which makes a significant impact on these Bornean communities and the surrounding environment.
