Beau is a gentle, retired racehorse who was recently injured at a large event. His former owner was also hurt that day and could no longer provide the medical care Beau urgently needed. Without help, his only option would have been euthanasia. Barnabas Horse Foundation stepped in so Beau’s story wouldn’t end there. Beau now has a safe home at Barnabas, but his recovery requires advanced imaging and specialized treatment from a sports medicine veterinarian.
With proper care, Beau will be able to join our therapy herd and spend the rest of his life serving victims of crime, survivors of abuse, human trafficking victims, veterans, and first responders. At Barnabas, we believe deeply that there are no throwaway people and no throwaway horses. Beau, like many of the individuals we serve, has known fear, trauma, and being used for the benefit of others. When he heals, he will help survivors find their courage, their voice, and their resilience.
Barnabas provides all services free of charge, so we rely on community support to care for our therapy horses. Every dollar given toward Beau’s medical care ensures he can heal fully and step into the purpose he was meant for. If you’re able, please donate. If you can’t give, please share Beau’s story. Thank you for believing Beau is worth saving — and for helping him become a source of healing for so many others.
