My name is Leanne and I am fundraising for my sister in law and nephew.

I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my beautiful little nephew, Beau.

Beau was born prematurely at just 2lbs 11oz, fighting for his life from the very beginning. He has shown incredible strength and resilience, but his journey is far from easy. Now 9 months old, Beau only weighs around 11lbs and has recently been diagnosed with a condition called Craniosynostosis, that means he urgently needs surgery on his skull to allow more room for his brain to grow and develop properly. You should be able to see in my photograph the vertical ridge on his forehead where his skull has fused.

Without this operation, Beau’s brain development and long-term health could be seriously affected. The surgery offers him a chance at a healthier future, but it also comes with ongoing hospital appointments and specialist care.

Beau and his mum live in Nottingham, but his treatment and surgery are taking place in Birmingham. This means regular long and costly travel for appointments, assessments, and hospital stays. The financial strain of this alone has become overwhelming.

Beau’s mum is doing everything she possibly can for her little boy, but she is facing serious challenges of her own. She lives with ongoing health issues, including mental health struggles and diabetes, which make it even harder for her to manage the constant travel, medical appointments, and day-to-day costs.

I am hoping to raise funds to help ease this burden—covering travel to and from Birmingham, hospital stays, food, and any unexpected costs that come with Beau’s treatment and recovery. Every journey matters, and every bit of support will make a real difference in helping Beau get the care he urgently needs without the added stress of financial worry.

No parent should have to choose between their child’s health and being able to afford to get them there.
