Help Beatrix Run with Trexo
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tanya and my beautiful 8 year old daughter is Beatrix. When Beatrix was born, she suffered a brain injury called Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), which has lead to her diagnosis of cerebral palsy (CP). She needs support for all her movement, and she’s cognitively her age. She loves watching her friends run around, and while she can take some steps in a gait trainer, running is not something she has ever achieved.
On Friday she got to try out the Trexo Robotics legs, and she went so fast! She didn’t want to get out of them. They are so new that they are unfortunately not covered by insurance. They are trying, but trying to get a company to agree to spend money is hard (I can’t get out insurance to cover a bath chair because, and I quote, “she doesn’t need to have a bath, you can sponge wash her.”). The cost for this is $40,000.
We are working on adding in more money, thankfully Trexo does a payment plan, which is still $1,100 a month for 36 months. Right now we are raising some money so when hers arrives we aren’t scrambling to cover it.
I will post and add any money raised here as well-in the coming weeks expect to see a Poshmark and some other fundraising sales ideas to help support our goal of letting Beatrix run.
