Hi, I am Denise and am fundraising for my great-niece Beatrix

In 2020 my great-niece Beatrix came into this world at just 1 pound 11oz, born 3 months early. My niece and “B” were flown to the hospital via helicopter after mom had a placental abruption and shortly after Beatrix was born. The weeks following “B” fought for her life, facing a handful of life threatening complications including two accounts of cardiac arrest, sepsis, fluid around her heart, dangerously low blood pressure, and bleeding in her brain. She was in the NICU for 4 months. About 5 months later “B” started having seizures, which thank God, have since stopped. Throughout the handful of hardships and challenges, Beatrix has shown that she is doing everything she can to fight to stay here with us.

At the end of 2022 Beatrix was officially diagnosed with Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy, which effects one side of her body (her right side) “B” has been in Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapies since she was under a year old to help her brain successfully transmit messages to her body to accomplish regular, everyday activities. “B” now loves to use her walker, swim, and ride her bicycle. She loves to be mobile in any way that she can!

Because of Beatrix’s very special ongoing needs, the family is in great need of a wheelchair lift to safely transport "B" and all of her equipment to the car on a daily basis. (Mom currently does her best to carry 43lb “B” and all of her equipment up and down the stairs daily). This is something that will help them greatly for the foreseeable future.

Using her walker and making it to weekly appointments has been detrimental to “B’s” progress. Helping her to get a wheelchair lift would alleviate some of the financial burden from all of the equipment needed to keep Beatrix mobile.

It is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving, no act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted!
