Dover's first dedicated coffeehouse and dry bar is in the works, and we need your support!
We’re Ash and Nico, owners of Beatnix Coffee Station in Dover, New Hampshire. We’ve spent years helping the Seacoast get its coffee fix.
Now we're looking to serve our signature drinks along with exciting new options in a unique social atmosphere: A happening place to hang out and schmooze, without the booze.
Our vision for Beatnix Coffeehaus & Dry Bar is inspired by Beat Generation coffeehouses and temperance bars of the early 20th century. Imagine not only an offbeat spot to grab a coffee, but an evening venue for social events, roundtable discussions, poetry readings, puppet shows… anything our endlessly weird and wonderful community can dream up.
What’s On Tap?
Beatnix Coffeehaus & Dry Bar will offer a diverse assortment of mocktails, non-alcoholic beer and wine, soft drinks, and - of course - Beatnix coffee. Our menu will include:
- NA Beer Variety: A quality selection of local and craft non-alcoholic beer.
- Creative Mocktails: Signature drinks that match the complexity and flavor of traditional cocktails without the drag on your liver or your wallet.
- Coffee: You know it and love it from Beatnix Coffee Station! We’ll continue to feature a selection of hot coffee and cold brew, as well as lattes and espresso-based beverages.
- Community Event and Art Space: Featuring regular themed events, live performances, and other gatherings to foster community engagement - not just for hepcats and daddy-o’s, but anyone looking to make connections and get their kicks outside of a conventional bar setting.
Why Non-Alcoholic?
The demand for alcohol-free options is on the rise. Newly-released Gallup polling shows that American alcohol consumption is at its lowest levels in close to a century! For a variety of reasons, people are seeking alternatives, and we want to serve this growing need. We’ll provide a welcoming and inclusive social environment for:
- Anyone sober or sober-curious
- Anyone looking for a fun night out without the hangover
- Anyone looking for a hip, safe, all-ages hangout spot
Funding Goals
We are seeking $150,000 to cover the initial costs of opening, including:
- Location Lease: Securing a prime location in historic downtown Dover, NH.
- Renovations: Creating a cozy and eclectic atmosphere with comfortable seating, funky bar, lighting, and decor (plus tchotchkes and knick-knacks a-plenty!)
- Equipment: Purchasing bar equipment, glassware, and initial inventory.
- Marketing: Promoting our initial calendar of events and continuing to build our community presence.
