Hello, my name is Collin Hunter, and I would like to introduce you to someone who is in need of your help. My girlfriend, Brooke Atchison, was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

At the age of 22, she has many accomplishments. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA in pharmacy school throughout 2.5 years, where she will obtain her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2027. She plans on giving back to her community by practicing in ambulatory care clinics, taking care of patients with chronic illnesses. With that being said, being in college has made her ability to pay for treatment very weak. We are trying to keep her in school while getting treatment, which may not work out if we cannot pay for her treatment. She may need to drop out and start working, which would be the worst-case scenario.

When Brooke walks into the room, everyone can tell. Her personality brightens up the room by simply walking in and smiling with a cheery "Hello!" She is the most loving, sweetest, and caring person you will meet. Everyone who has met her has had a lasting impression that will stick with them throughout time. Her favorite type of music to listen to is EDM; she loves dinosaurs and everything related. She loves live music, especially seeing DJs that play her favorite type of music. Another hobby of hers is drawing and doing jigsaw puzzles.

She has been searching far and wide for places to get treated that would take her insurance. However, like most insurance companies, they are failing her in finding a place that will be covered at a decent out-of-pocket price. We are trying to find a place that will provide adequate care, which has been a challenge because there are not many specialists within our area that are covered by insurance. The ones that are "covered" by the insurance have extremely high co-insurance costs. They are estimating they will only cover about 50% of her treatment. The current plan is to get a CT of her head and neck, then go in for a thyroidectomy. These are very expensive, and we need help trying to pay for this.

I really appreciate you taking the time to read this and hopefully donate or spread this around to other people. This has been a very stressful time in our lives, and we are trying to navigate through it.
