Help Bear With Life Saving Sugery

Bear is a 6 month old puppy. His owners dropped him off at a gas station and left him. A friend took him home and put a post on facebook looking for a home for bear. He was not chipped and she did not want to take him to a shelter for fear he would be euthanized.
I saw my friend's post and I immediately knew he needed us. I ran to the pet store and bought everything he needed and drove over an hour to meet him.
We brought him home and realized his breathing was very labored. We took him to the vet and found out that he had a hernia that grew so large that it pushed up all of his organs into his chest and his lungs were filled with fluid. It took us countless vets before we found one that would do this risky surgery but the cost was $5,500. Most vets recommend putting him down but we knew he deserved to live and there is just something very special about Bear.
After his surgery he should make a 100% recovery and be a normal, healthy puppy that can finally run and play.
No pet’s life should be cut short and we are willing do anything that’s necessary to keep him breathing and happy. Any amount will help. Thank you for reading Bear's story!
