Bear is out of surgery. While the cost of the immediate operation was graciously handled by the SPCA, the path to his full recovery has become much more complex than expected. And the out of pocket tests were substantial.

The surgery is only the first step. The coming weeks require critical diagnostic testing and specialized treatment to address emerging issues with his liver and potential cancer.

Bear has been my constant, steady companion through every season of my life. He’s a fighter, and I am committed to providing him with the highest level of care possible, but the mounting costs of specialized testing and long-term treatment are more than I can manage alone having just changed career after a period of unemployment.
