Help Bear Maul Leukemia

Donation protected
Without a doubt, the single most devastating thing any parent can endure is the illness of their child.  Their entire world revolves around the next doctor’s appointment, the next treatment plan or the pending results of a recent test.  Try as we may, there are no words that we can come up with to “fix” the situation.  But, we can help in other ways…

Our beloved little firecracker, Jess, and her family recently received news that her son, “Bear”, has been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).  This cancer usually begins in the bone marrow and results in high numbers of abnormal white blood cells that crowd out healthy blood cells.  While the exact cause of CLL is unknown, advances in modern medicine are finding ways to send it into remission every day.

If you have met in person or spoken to our Jess on the phone, you know she is determined to say the least.  And, Bear is no different.  This little warrior has endured appointment after appointment and test after test in his short life thus far and always comes out the other side with an even greater resolve than he had going in.  And, now, he is in for the greatest fight of his life, but all you have to do is take one look at him and know he is ready.  As for “Mama Bear” (Jess), reference the first sentence of this paragraph.

Now, back to the point where we come in…  First, pray.  With God, we know all things are possible.  Pray for Bear and the entire family.  Pray for the doctors that are taking this journey with Bear.  Second, be there when needed for the family.  Be it a phone call, an email or a text just to let them know they are in your thoughts.  Lastly, help with the upcoming expenses as the family travels for treatments, overnight hotel stays, meals while away from home.  These may seem minor in the grand scheme of things, but they add up fast and this will be a long road.

Brush Country Claims has always operated as a family business and we consider every employee and every contractor that we work with as such.  Jess, Bear and the entire family are not on this journey alone as we will be there every step of the way.  We would ask that you join us and support our Jess and family on this journey.  There’s a popular Twitter hashtag for #cancersucks…  Knowing the fight that Bear is putting up right now, we almost feel sorry for cancer.  Almost…
