Bear came into our lives after being returned to the shelter by his foster family. From the moment we met him, we knew he deserved a loving home and a real chance at a happy life. We adopted Bear knowing he had an angular limb deformity, and that he would likely need surgery to live comfortably. As healthcare workers, we understand how important it is to give every patient—human or animal—the best possible care.
When we adopted Bear, we were prepared to provide for his medical needs. However, after moving from out of state for work, we faced unexpected challenges. Our vehicle needed urgent repairs, we discovered asbestos in our home that had to be removed immediately, and we had to unexpectedly buy all new appliances. These emergencies have stretched our finances thin, but our commitment to Bear has never wavered. We thought we had more time before Bear would need surgery, but due to the pressure on his elbow, he now needs surgery immediately on 3/18. This is the first of two surgeries Bear will need. Without these surgeries, where is quality of life would be hugely impacted due to immense lifelong pain, joint problems, and damage due to compensation to his other limbs.
Bear is only 19 weeks old, and his recovery will require at least 8 weeks of crate rest—which is heartbreaking for such a young, energetic puppy. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to Bear's surgery at the vet. Your support will help us give Bear the healthy, happy life he deserves. We would be so grateful for any donation or for sharing Bear’s story with others who might want to help. Thank you for being part of Bear’s journey to healing.
