Bear, my 16-year-old cat, has been my companion through so many chapters of life. In December, she suddenly fell ill and our vet initially thought it was a respiratory infection. After months of vet visits, medications, and worry, Bear lost two pounds and began to wobble—she became almost unrecognizable from the playful, strong cat I know and love. We were advised to get a CT scan for a more thorough diagnosis, and today I received the heartbreaking news that Bear has lymphoma, a type of cancer.

Bear has always had a strong will to live. She loves basking in the summer sun, feeling the lush green grass under her belly, and carrying socks down the stairs while meowing each step of the way. Her silly antics and resilient spirit have brought so much joy to my life, and I refuse to give up on her now. The cost of her treatment is overwhelming, but I want to give her every chance to keep enjoying the things she loves most.
