Help Bear Creek Organic Farm Recover from Ice Storm
Donation protected
We are Bear Creek Organic Farm in Petoskey, Michigan. We are a first-generation farm in our 12th season and we are trying to recover from a devastating ice storm.
Our farm sustained significant tree damage and product loss due to the once-in-a-generation ice event spanning 100+ hours. We have 30+ employees and our farm market is the only year-round organic produce market in our community.
We usually want to be the first to offer help in times of crisis, but this time around, we have been paralyzed and unable to focus on anything but survival.
We have never asked for help before and this process has been humbling, harrowing, and with a challenging road ahead.
We have property insurance for so many aspects of our farm, and yet, so many things will not be covered.
We need your help to keep our employees paid, to help clear trees and debris, to help us catch up and clean up, and to keep us on track as we are less than a month away from our most important month of the year.
We will be spending the next days and weeks trying to re-open our farm market and food truck, to focus on growing crops, and to prioritize repairs to our fences and greenhouses.
So many members of our community are hurting right now. These funds will help us get back on our feet as quickly as possible so we can resume our role as a community asset and beacon of hope.
