Help Bean Through a Medical Crisis

Donation protected
Our puppy, Maximus Bean, is undergoing a medical crisis requiring ICU hospitalization.
This medical emergency has been heartbreaking, as she is so young and experiencing such rare symptoms.
Austin and I want to provide her with the best possible chance of recovery so we can bring her home safe-- and we need your help!

Any donations to this fundraiser will go towards her hospitalization and ongoing treatment expenses to provide the best chance for Bean's full recovery and a long life of happy wiggles.

Beanie started not eating as regularly this month, and though we were undergoing a heat wave, we were concerned. Our local veterinarian thought she might have been suffering from some gastrointestinal inflammation from a food allergy or plant toxin. Unfortunately, the treatments and prescription food for Bean's GI symptoms didn't improve her health, and she began to lose weight rapidly.

Our usually food-obsessed puppy was refusing meals + spitting out the food she tried to eat. Bean had blood in her stool and began acting lethargic. When we took her to the vet again, she presented with jaundice and extremely elevated liver enzymes.

❤ She was transferred on Friday August 19th, to a 24/7 urgent care vet clinic in Salem, Oregon.

Sadly, on Saturday morning her ultrasound results showed a potential mass in her intestinal tract. That afternoon she was transferred again to DoveLewis emergency care in Portland, Oregon.

❤ Doctors at DoveLewis has been caring for Beanie baby in the ICU unit since Saturday.

Her vitals are being constantly monitored while she is on IV fluids and pain medication. They are continuing with blood tests, ultrasounds and wide-spectrum antibiotics.

Their secondary ultrasounds showed four discrete masses in her small intestine and partial to total obstruction of her gall bladder ducts. Specialists were able to take cell samples of the structures in her small intestines, swollen lymph nodes and liver.

As of Tuesday morning, she has started to eat small amounts intermittently. We are still anxiously/hopefully waiting for an update on her condition and cell sample results.
