Bean has always been a curious and playful little girl, but her latest adventure turned into a medical emergency. Despite the cabinet baby locks we installed just for her, Bean cleverly managed to get past them and locked herself in the bathroom cabinet. While inside, she ate around 35 rubber band style hairties and the cardboard they were attached to, which led to a life-threatening blockage and required major abdominal exploratory surgery to remove the foreign objects.
Bean joined our family two years ago when we adopted her from a kitten rescue at just 10 weeks old. She quickly became a beloved member of our household, bringing joy and laughter every day. Bean is such a sweet baby girl with an affectionate personality—she loves giving love and being close to us. She also has a great sense of humor and is by far the funniest person in the house. Seeing her in pain and facing such a serious surgery was heartbreaking, but I knew I had to do everything possible to help her. Thankfully, the surgery was a success, and Bean is now home recovering like a champ.
The cost of Bean’s emergency surgery and care has been overwhelming. I’ve maxed out three lines of credit, including two credit cards, ScratchPay, and even borrowed from my mom to cover the expenses. Any support will help me pay down this debt and continue providing Bean and my other animals with the quality food, medication, and flea preventative they need. Your help means the world to us and will make a real difference in Bean’s recovery and our family’s well-being.
