Hey, we are Jeff & Jen, but more importantly, Bean's parents.
We are starting a GoFundMe to help with the ongoing costs of Bean's condition that the vets say is “rare” or “they’ve never seen before.”
What we initially thought might be a UTI has turned into a very stressful and difficult cat & mouse game of doctors trying to figure out if Bean has a tumor or something more psychologically based.
She strains to urinate and has essentially come to the point where she needs assistance via catheter every few days to void her bladder.
At one point, the vet had punctured her bladder and sent us to an emergency clinic, saying she would likely die, but thankfully, the doctors at the emergency hospital were able to save her. She spent about a week there getting better. They sent her home with meds, saying she had a rare case where her “oddly shaped vagina” walls were thickened, causing it to squeeze when she was trying to release urine. With steroid treatment, we felt hopeful it would thin and she might be able to go on normally, but that wasn’t the case, and we ended up spending another day draining her bladder today.
She now has an appointment booked for May 19th with an internal medicine specialist, but will have to continue getting assistance daily with voiding her bladder until then, adding about $500 a day to her already high bills.
So we are here asking for any assistance we can get at this point as the bills are getting beyond our credit limit.
While Bean is doing okay at the moment, she was in quite a bit of pain after her visit today and has to continue getting the same until we hopefully get a good answer from the IM specialist on May 19th.
We will keep updating as we go through this together and thank you all for any assistance you’re able to offer.
