Hello Friends and Family,
As many of you know, my mom Bea, suffered a massive stroke in June which severely impacted her ability to walk, speak and function independently.
For those of you that know Bea, she was extremely independent and incredibly active. She loves hiking, boating, snow skiing (and snowboarding ) and anything involving the outdoors. She spends a tremendous amount of time with her 4 children and 6 grandchildren who thankfully all live on the Central Coast.
After this devastating situation, Bea spent 3 weeks at Arroyo Grande acute rehab center, where she made outstanding progress. Despite her progress, she was discharged due to insufficient insurance coverage. She is now home, but requires 24/7 care. She will be admitted into the Neuro Restorative rehabilitation center in Orange County on 9/11/23 where she will get the intense physical, occupational and speech therapy she needs. At this point, intense therapy, routine and practice are the only hope for recovery.
Neither caregivers nor the Neuro Restorative center are covered under insurance. 24/7 caregivers cost $20,000 per month and one month of care at Neuro Restorative is $46,000. We also started a MealTrain for the days leading up to her departure: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/yke34y
We put this fund together for anyone who wants to help with the financial burden, all funds will go directly to medical costs and unexpected expenses.
We appreciate the amount of outpouring love and prayers you have all graciously shown our family. God bless you all.
Let's work together so we can get Bea back!!!
