UPDATE from his wife Tami:
Mark has finally made the transplant list now we're just waiting on the right liver match. In this process he's had to have 4 surgeries in the last 5 months (so far) to help prevent the fluid build up on his body from his lungs to his belly. It's a long process, and it is an expensive process . He has been in and out of the hospital all summer, and still has a long way to go . When the liver transplant comes through, he will be in the hospital for at least a week (maybe longer), and has to reside within 30 minutes of the hospital for a month, just in case his body rejects the liver . Any help with medical bills and for his temporary residence would be greatly appreciated. All prayers are needed and appreciated. Thank you.
My dad, Mark Webb, has been sick for quite a long time now. He's currently waiting to be put on a liver transplant list at UAB in Birmingham due to c-diff. They have to get rid of the c-diff first before they can add him to the list. He's having to get liters of fluid drained every few days now, and he can't breathe well because of it. The medical costs are suffocating him and my stepmom. He's been out of work since the sickness started in 2018. My stepmother has been the sole provider and is now out of work herself, as she is currently staying with him down in UAB. He was rushed to the ER last week and then placed in the ICU for his sodium levels dropping fast while also battling the c-diff. It's not just the cost of the medical treatments; it's also the cost of food, gas, housing, and merely the basic essentials that are being spent every day. He was told by the doctor that they will have to stay within 30 minutes from UAB even if the c-diff is treated to be monitored and for any complications from his new medicine, which will cost $6,000 alone. They live 2 and a half hours away from UAB, so coming back home and getting things they need are costly in itself. He's never been one to ask anyone for help, but this situation has gotten to the point where miracles are needed to keep him going. I ask anyone who is willing to help, to help as much as they can to take the extra weight off my dad. If you can't, we understand. Any thoughts and prayers would be appreciated just as much. Thank you.
