Help Bay Go Home
Donation protected
Hi everyone, Im fundraising for my best friend Baylee. She has been in my life for over 11 years and her spirit and attitude during this journey has made me proud to call her my best friend. With the help of her mom here is her story……..
Baylee’s journey began back on September 27, 2022, when she was first diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Baylee spent 6 weeks the first time getting her Leukemia into remission. She had to have two more rounds of chemo to make sure her Leukemia remained in remission to go to transplant. Baylee has been Leukemia free since November and she finally got to have her transplant January 27, 2023, 4 months from the day her journey began. Her transplant has been successful and her cells have engrafted, and we are getting ready to transition home and insurance has denied a very important medication that she needs to be on for about a year. It’s a medication to protect her from CMV virus so it’s very imperative to have this. The doctors have appealed this process and we wait and until we get an approval we can’t be discharged unless we have a means to pay for the medication. We were awarded a grant that will pay for one month, but her medication will be approximately $8900 a month (which is insane) and knocks out the grant. The concern is after that month we need to be able to pay for the meds. Hopefully this appeal gets completed sooner than later, so Baylee can go home and start getting back to her new normal life. Please keep Baylee in your prayers as she continues to gain her strength and energy back. She is doing amazing and we all couldn’t have done this with out the help, love and support of our family and friends!
