Batmyn is my six-month-old kitten, full of energy and always up to mischief with her brother Robin. Recently, she swallowed a sewing needle, and despite my efforts to get it out, I couldn’t. At first, she seemed fine, but I took her to the vet just in case. When the vet confirmed the needle was inside her, I was overwhelmed with guilt and anxiety. The staff at ARK Animal Hospital, Los Angeles, CA, were incredibly compassionate, waiving some of the major costs and reassuring me that Batmyn would be cared for. A retired firefighter even stepped in to loan me the money needed for her emergency treatment, which saved her life.
Batmyn has made a full recovery and is back to chasing flies and playing with Robin, while occasionally pestering our older cat, Alfred. This experience was both terrifying and humbling. I felt a deep sense of shame for not being able to prevent the accident, but I’m grateful for the kindness of strangers and the skill of the veterinary team. Now, I’m asking for help to repay the emergency loan that made Batmyn’s treatment possible. Any additional funds raised will go to Kitty Clippers, the rescue that gave Batmyn and Robin a second chance after their mom survived the Altadena fires in LA. Your support will help us through this difficult time and enable us to pay forward the generosity we’ve received.
Thank you for reading and for any support you can give, whether it’s a donation or sharing this with others.
