Bassem and Iman, parents of four, are displaced in Gaza where they are trying to keep their family afloat during the ongoing genocide. They are currently living in a tent after their home and all of their belongings were destroyed in airstrikes. They are seeking to rebuild their family’s lives and home from scratch, again.
Hear from them below:
"My name is Bassem Al-Najjar, a father from Gaza, and I am appealing to you as a last resort to protect my family of six.
Before this war, we had a home, dreams and a stable life. Today, all that remains of our home is rubble. We were forced to flee from place to place, escaping death and relentless bombing, until we found ourselves living in a flimsy tent on the beach.
Life in a Tent
Our current "home" is a makeshift tent that offers no protection from the cold, the wind or the sea's humidity. It is unfit for any human being, let alone four young children who deserve to feel safe and warm. The war has exhausted us and the exorbitant prices of basic necessities have made survival a daily struggle.
How can your donations help us?
Your generosity is the only reason we can continue. Every donation no matter how small goes directly to our survival:
1. Food and water to provide daily meals for my children amidst soaring inflation.
2. Shelter maintenance to purchase wood, plastic sheeting and tools to reinforce our tent against the elements.
3. Medical care and transportation to cover the costs of essential medications and relocation to safer areas when needed.
We're not asking for much, just the right to live in peace and safety. I want my children to wake up to the sound of explosions and have a roof over their heads again.
Please stand with us. Your support is more than just money. It's a message of hope that assures us we are not alone in these difficult circumstances.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your humanity and generosity."
Their family relies on your generosity in order to survive.
This GoFundMe campaign was created at the request of Bassem and Iman. All donations are sent via PayPal to Iman's friend Maisa and then deposited in Iman's account.
