Hi, my name is Bassam , and I’m fundraising for my brave cousin, whose life changed forever in a single, unimaginable moment.

Just a few days ago, my cousin was shot in the chest while trying to break up a fight between two men. He wasn’t involved — he just didn’t want anyone to get hurt. In an act of selflessness and courage, he stepped in to de-escalate the situation. But instead of walking away a hero, he collapsed to the ground with a bullet in his chest.

The first surgery saved his life — and for that, we are incredibly grateful. But the bullet caused trauma to his spine, which requires further surgery to prevent full paralysis. Doctors believe that with a second surgery — a complex but possible procedure — there is hope to restore him back to full health. But it’s expensive, and insurance won’t cover all of it.

We need to raise $20,000 to cover the next round of surgery and care that could give him a real chance at recovery. Every dollar brings us closer to giving him back his independence, his dignity, and his future.

My cousin is only 37 years old. He’s a kind-hearted, hard-working person who never hesitates to help others. He didn’t deserve this. No one does. And now, we’re asking for help — for him.
