My name is Bassam, and I am from the Gaza Strip. I lost my father when I was young and grew up with my brothers, determined to make our mother proud. In 2020, I graduated with a degree in Accounting, and together with my brothers, we built a metal trading and import company. For a time, life was stable, and we were building a future.

Then the war changed everything. Our six-story family home was bombed and reduced to rubble, taking with it all that we owned—our clothes, food, furniture, belongings, and memories. Before that, our company headquarters was destroyed, along with merchandise worth more than a million dollars. Overnight, we went from being business owners to having nothing.

Now, we are facing famine. There are days when we go without food, and when goods are available, the prices are impossibly high. Our savings are gone, spent trying to keep the family alive.

We are more than 15 people in my family, including children and the elderly. What we need most is shelter from the burning sun and cold nights, and food to survive. Your support can help us rebuild our lives in Gaza, find dignity in the midst of destruction, and keep hope alive for a future beyond war.
