Hii! My name is Basil, and I’m a 19 year old living between Oklahoma/Vermont.

Some issues with my health has forced me to hit pause on everything. I always believed I was physically healthy. Except recently I received a shocking diagnosis: I have a chronic collapsed lung and facing undiagnosed heart issues.

These new problems have made put my life on hold.

The most challenging obstacle right now is that I do not have health insurance. We are actively seeking options though!

Some things I could use some financial help with are:

1. Pulmonologist Appointments: To get a clear diagnosis and treatment plan for my collapsed lung.

2. Cardiology Consultations: To investigate and address the potential heart problems

Here’s the problems these things have been causing me..:

The collapsed lung (pneumothorax) has been holding me back. It’s been a sharp pain where I can’t even take full breaths anymore. It’s scary when I can’t breathe and I often have severe panic attacks.

Since my lung function is limited, my body can’t seem to sustain basic activity. I just got a new gym membership but I can’t even do a full workout! I have to stop and take multiple breaks almost every 5 minutes from chest pains…It’s not a lack of effort, it’s more so a lack of oxygen.

My heart has been forced to work overtime to compensate for the lack of oxygen. It increases my heart rate which is already at an all time high. The constant pain, the fear of what could happen, and the financial burden of medical debt adds to my chronic stress which affects my heart too.

My family is doing everything they can to support me (Yay!) Except we have never had much money. Even if you could only donate a dollar, or simply share my story, it would mean the world to me. I’m beyond grateful for any help I can get towards paying for the medical care.

I am not just fighting for my health; I am fighting to help get me back to the life I dream of every day! These are the goals driving me to get better:

Skiing: One of my big dreams is to become a professional skier. I love the feeling of flying down the mountain.

Basketball: I’ve just started playing basketball, but I have so much fun doing it. Found out I am a natural Hope to one day play on a college team even though it’s a big goal lol

DJ/Producer: I love to listen to music and dance…I haven’t done much of it yet but I’d love to start djing and sharing possibly my own tunes with the world.

Traveling : Ohh to travel the world, explore new cultures, and take my music and skis with me wherever I go! I haven’t been many places before. I am super curious of what’s out there!!
