Bashful has been part of our family since we rescued him as a tiny puppy in 2018. He’s been our comfort through health scares, sleepless nights, and the chaos of raising two young boys — always there with a wagging tail and a gentle heart.
Now it’s Bash who needs us.
He’s in constant pain from severe sacroiliac disease. The joint that connects his spine to his pelvis is breaking down so much there’s almost no space left, and the bones grind together every time he moves. He still tries to stay close and wag his tail, but we can see how much it hurts him. Without surgery soon, he may lose the ability to walk for good.
We’ve covered his pain meds and scheduled his orthopedic consult, but the surgery and recovery costs are more than we can handle right now. It has been like a domino effect for our family.
Since our youngest son Jase was born in 2023, I’ve developed chronic health conditions that cause episodes where I collapse and lose consciousness, making it unsafe for me to be the boys’ sole caregiver.
Ricky, who was working full-time, had to step in with the boys, and we lost our main income. Still, he works whenever he can, delivering for DoorDash, donating plasma, or taking shifts when family can help with childcare.
I work part‑time from home and am slowly building a small business to support families like ours.
We’ve applied for Medicaid, SNAP, disability, and childcare aid, but those approvals take time — and Bash can’t wait.
It’s not easy for us to ask for help, but Bash means everything to our family.
Where Your Gift Will Go
We’re asking for $7,750 to cover Bashful’s surgery and short-term recovery costs, as well as essential support for our family while we care for him:
$130 – Orthopedic consult (already scheduled)
$135+ – Pre-surgical Imaging or diagnostics if needed
$3,000–$6,000 – Surgery to stabilize the sacroiliac joint
$200 – Post-op medications and pain control
$500 – Rehab, physical therapy, and recovery gear
$900 – Healthy meals and kid essentials for six weeks
$300 – Transportation to appointments
$400 – Short-term childcare so Ricky can take shifts
$360 – Processing fees and contingency
If the surgery estimate’s higher, we’ll adjust the goal up to $10,000 maximum. If it’s lower, any extra will go toward those listed recovery needs only. We’ll post receipts so you can see exactly where your gift goes.
⏳ Why Now
Bash’s condition is progressing fast — each week without surgery increases his pain and the risk of permanent mobility loss. We’ve done what we can to manage his discomfort and line up care, but he can’t wait months for aid programs to process. This surgery needs to happen soon if he’s going to keep walking and enjoy a pain‑free life.
