Hi, I'm Rachel and I'm raising money for Bart Shiflett after his most recent stroke. Early Saturday, June 14th, Bart had a second stroke and small brain bleed. His friend Kim remotely called an ambulance and he was rushed to the hospital. He was assessed and eventually moved to an acute rehab facility where he's been healing for the last 3 weeks. I picked him up this past Thursday morning, 7/10, after he was released.

Bart currently cannot walk un-aided and is using a walker while he regains mobility. He will be out of work til he can graduate to a cane. The picture above is from after his doctor's appt 7/11. The doctor is very positive about his ability to walk, unaided, in the next month or two with physical therapy. He doesn't have short term disability, so this gofundme is to cover his short term expenses which are, specifically, his rent and phone bill. Bart's job will be there for him once he's mobile again, but Im hoping Bart's friends and family can help us bridge the gap for next month or so while he can't work.

His step-father and daughter came down last weekend to help. His friend Kim has bought him a bunch of food, so he's able to eat. I have made Bart's apartment more accessible and am taking him to his appointments.
