Help Bart get critical surgery

Donation protected

Bartholomew is a baby pit bull born on 3/4/21. His mom was brought to the vet while she was in labor because she wasn’t giving birth. One of Bart’s siblings was stuck in the birth canal, which if left any longer would’ve resulted in mom, Bart, and all of his siblings dying. Thanks to Dr. Nichols and her team at Pet Resource Center KC, mom, Bart, and two of his 4 siblings survived. Unfortunately that wasn’t the end of Bart’s struggle.

Bart was born with a double cleft lip, meaning both sides of the roof of his mouth are open into his nasal cavity. Because of this, he is unableto nurse or be bottle fed and instead has to be fed by tube every two hours until he has his surgery. Right now, he is too small to tell how extensive the surgery will be, so it could either be an easy fix or he might have to see a specialist to get implants.

We won’t know how extensive the surgery willbe until he is about 8-12 weeks old, and he willcontinue to be tube fed until then. I am starting the fundraiser at $1500, but if implants are needed the procedure could be over $2000. Any extra funds will be donated to animal organizations in Kansas City including Pet Resource Center, as they are the reason he is alive.

Any little bit helps! And if you would like to keep up with Bart’s progress, be sure to follow him on Instagram @bartholomew_the_bully
