Our beloved Room to Heal house leader, Barry, is in an immigration detention center in Atlanta GA. 

If you're not aware, here is the situation. Our house leader, Barry accepted a plea a few weeks ago to bring his pre-room to heal legal issues to a close. Unfortunately, this triggered immigration to consider deporting him back to England. He's been here 20 years and has a daughter about 10 years old. He's a beloved member of our team and a big reason why the men love staying with us.

It's been a nightmare for Barry, two weeks ago he showed up for his parole meeting and immigration put him in shackles and took him to an Atlanta immigration detention center. I spoke to him yesterday and he said the living conditions are pretty terrible. He can barely sleep on the uncomfortable cots. His legs are buckling beneath him and he's already lost 8 pounds. He spoke to his daughter on the phone for the first time last week and he said it was heart wrenching.

Barry has given his heart and soul to the 12-step recovery community over the last 3 years and our hope is that the community will help him stay in the states to see be daughter grow up.
